Follow-up – Turn Conversations Into Commitments
Day 23 of 30 · Build Your Sales – 30 Days to More Deals
Learning Goal
To write a recap email structure that drives a next step and turn conversations into commitments.
Who
Professionals in sales and communication who want to improve their follow-up strategy.
What
A recap + decision path that helps you capture decisions, owners, and dates, and reduce ghosting by making choices explicit.
Where
In your follow-up emails, specifically in the recap section.
When
After a conversation or meeting, ideally within 24 hours.
Why it Matters
Most deals die in follow-up chaos. Recaps become internal documentation for the buyer. Clear choices make it easy to say yes or no.
How
- Write a recap email structure that drives a next step.
- Capture decisions, owners, and dates.
- Reduce ghosting by making choices explicit.
Guided Exercise (10–15 min) — Recap v1
Take your last meeting notes and write the recap in the template. Add 2 proposed times for the next step.
Independent Exercise (5–10 min) — Choice Framing
Write 3 follow-up lines that offer a choice: “Option A / Option B / close the file”.
Self-Check
- My follow-ups include owners and dates.
- I never send vague check-ins.
- I always propose a clear next step.
